Really wonderful interview process. Four interviews - interim managing director, managing director, artistic director, then the Theater J team, then references. Such an incredible, kind team of people that genuinely seemed interested in my research and my ideas for the theater. They place heavy importance on audience experience, and made it clear they wanted someone to come in and fine-tune their house management experience and team. No presentation or skills test required for the interviews.
Ultimately did not get the position--they wanted someone with more local and professional experience, but would've taken the job in a heartbeat. You can tell they are people who genuinely care about every person who walks in that door, staff and audience alike. Even though I got rejected I ultimately have a very positive view of them and hope to attend as an audience member someday.
