I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Easygo
Interview
The entire interview process seemed fine until the final stage, which consisted of 3 hours of loop interviews requiring STAR-based answers. I believed I performed well in these interviews, but I later received an email stating that the recruitment team had decided not to proceed with my application and would not provide feedback.
I noticed a few issues with the final steps:
1. **First Loop Interview:**
The interviewer was about 15 minutes late. After joining, he apologized briefly and admitted that he had forgotten the interview was on his calendar. This felt very unprofessional, and I had to reach out to the recruiter to confirm whether the interview was even happening.
2. **Second Loop Interview:**
While the interviewer was on time, the session itself was problematic. After each of my answers, the interviewer would respond by sharing his own stories. This significantly reduced the time I had to elaborate on my responses or address additional questions. Furthermore, the interviewer mentioned that it was acceptable to use fabricated stories, as he claimed the purpose of the interviews was more about "having a chat" than anything else. I’m not sure if this aligns with the actual intention of the process or if it was misleading.
3. **Third and Final Loop Interview:**
This interview was punctual and conducted by the hiring manager. He often repeated my answers, possibly to ensure he understood them. Overall, the interviewer appeared satisfied with my STAR-based responses.
In summary, I believe the first and second loop interviews could have been significantly improved in terms of professionalism and structure.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. The first interview was a recruiter screening.
2. The second interview was a coding challenge. I was given a full-stack repository with broken back-end and front-end components and needed to fix them within the time limit. Overall, it wasn’t too difficult, but we were required to explain our debugging process, navigate through the files, and apply the fixes. They provided their own online IDE for this task.
3. The third interview was a technical/behavioral interview. This was a STAR-based session where I was asked about day-to-day scenarios.
4. The final stage was the Loop interview, another STAR-based interview focused on company values. You are given the company’s tenets and participate in three 1-hour interviews back-to-back with different interviewers. The final interview in this stage was with the hiring manager.
