There were 3 rounds of interviews including a teaching demo and meeting with the head of school and dean of faculty. They asked me about myself and then asked a few questions beyond that in the first round.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at East Harlem School in Jan 2021
Interview
I had a zoom interview with the direct supervisor (Anna Warren) as well as a second interview with the head of the school (Ivan Hageman) and the dean of faculty and staff (Courtney Knowlton). Both interviews were relaxed environments. They wanted to know why I was interested in this position and how it fit into my long term career plans. They asked about my background, about my previous experience with children, as well as what my favorite book was. The interviews were around 30 minutes long.
The second interview seem rushed towards the end. It simply ended without much warning. It was a hard cut off. Perhaps they had a schedule to keep.
Finally, one thing that is very common in hiring practices that did occur was telling me they would "be in touch," but they have not done so. No matter, I applied for other positions.
