The company approached me on LinkedIn for Java/Node.js opportunity. I got a call soon after I shared my resume, and a face to face interview was scheduled.
I reached ahead of the interview time and happened to wait for 30 mins for it to start. Next, I had a f2f technical round and introductions happened. Also, he said the person who takes your interview was on leave and he was a substitute.
To clear my ambiguity, I confirmed for which role am I been interviewed. Answer - No specific, but we are looking for experience candidate in core java
I was made aware of the interview process, will be given an intro about the company and round might last for 60 minutes. First, the discussion started with my experience and the challenges I encountered, few extended questions on what I said. Second, questions on Java (collections)Hashmaps, JUnit. Finally, there was a hands-on coding problem, you can solve on a whiteboard or a paper. I solved it on paper correctly.
The last, Q&A
I asked about the company because I was not told as said at the start of the round. Few more questions I asked. In last, I was informed that it might take a week to get the result of the interview.
The interview was focused on how Java collection APIs work instead of algo & ds problem-solving.
Interview process could be professional by bridging the communication effectively
