Resume was submitted via an internal referral at their D.C. office. Applied for a generic Sr. Research Analyst position with little hint as to what particular set of research interests they were seeking. Initial 30 minute phone screening with with HR to discuss the role within EAB's research division, fit, followed by a phone case-study interview with a Sr. Manager within EAB research. There was a short written homework assignment between the 1st and 2nd interviews. The initial phone screening was clear-cut with the employee reading off a list of generic, canned questions. The second interview questions were fairly straightforward but was followed up with a ridiculous case-study scenario. They seemed especially interested in "insights" though what constitutes an insight seemed superficial and opaque. There was definitely a tension within the interview structure itself between professional interest and experience working through issues in academia/higher ed vs. traditional MBA-oriented business professionals. The time gap across interviews was frustrating and far too drawn out with little responsiveness from HR. Received a generic form rejection with little explanation.
