I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dropless in Dec 2021
Interview
There was a 3 stage interview process, consisting of a 30 minute phone screen, a technical interview, and an interview with the directors, all done remotely.
For the initial phone screen, the interviewer did not call at the agreed time with no warning given - I was sat waiting for a call that never came - and this happened twice in a row before he finally made the third call.
The technical interview was fairly standard, with two coding exercises, one being challenging, followed by an easier one. However, it was done on google docs which was irritating as most other companies use websites with a proper editor that let you run your code.
During the interview with the directors, I was asked something along the lines of how much working for a eco-concious company like them mattered to me, as they "don't want someone who would work for any old company".
The recruiter they had partnered with was very pushy and didn't have my best interests in mind. My calls with him would turn into 15-20 minute long sales pitches because he knew I was interviewing with other companies.
The recruiter reminded me that the salary range went up to 33k, however when I was made an offer it was only for 27.5k, the lowest in the range, and I was told they couldn't offer any higher "because it'd be unfair to the other people who joined for 27.5k".
They pushed hard for immediate acceptance, barely willing to give a few days for me to complete my other interview processes. When I turned down the offer, the recruiter rudely told me they "found someone else anyway" and hung up.
Several months down the line I see how unusual this was and just how many red flags there were. Being a fresh graduate you may be tempted to interview here but there are better companies out there!
