      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox

      Interview

2 calls; one a US based member of the recruitment team for initial screening followed by a member of the UK team for local pre-interview checking. 1st interview took place with UK LT - focused on experience and passion. Positive from both sides. Then invited to travel to Dublin to meet EMEA LT including a Skype call with global channel director. The experience fell apart from here. First meeting with a marketing leader disapointing. They had no knowledge or experience of the UK channel and seemed not to be able to understand the context of my background or experience (in fairness, they were inexperienced in their role and had recently transferred from the US). However, reading interview questions to me seemingly derived from one of those supposed Google-esque question lists did begin to ring bells to me and their lack of UK and indeed role experience meant they couldn't answer mine. My next meeting with the EMEA dir. had to be cancelled suddenly as he had to fly to Italy! OK, at least I had the Skype meeting with the global leader which was good and looked like getting things back on track. Meetings over, thanked HR contact, confirmed with them decision time frame and contact with 48hrs. However, then they started delaying. In the end I set a deadline and finally got a response - very positive but now not sure what they wanted. Expect a couple of weeks as we were now entering holiday period and decision makers unavailable. Replied, no thanks.

      Interview

They were very professional and the process was very quick. One thing I didn't like about the interview was that they had me interviewed with three different people that weren't part of the sales team and also they were not even in Austin. The interviews with them were via GoTo. Three of the 5 people I interviewed with were from the finance department, another one was a project manager, and also a marketing person. The problem I saw with this was that we didn't really have much in common. Their questions were the simple, most common interview questions. The guy that would've been my boss told me that I went through 3 rounds of interviews because he knew I could get the job done. Did I not get the job because the 3 non sales guys didn't like me?
