As this was a contract role, the position was advertised on various recruitment portals by outsourced agents and not on the company's official career portal. After getting pass the initial resume screening, I was contacted by the company's HR representative to go down for an interview. The application to interview process took about 3 weeks.
It was a panel interview consisting of the HR manager and the hiring manager from the Finance department. Questions asked were mainly standard interview questions to gauge your interest in the position and your personality to determine the fit in the team. Both interviewers were friendly, eloquent, sharp and veterans in the corporate world, evident from the type of questions asked and the way they were posed.
Preparation for the interview is possible given the conventional questions asked such as "Tell me about yourself" and "How do you think your past working experience or time in school could help you in this role?" Situational questions were also asked to measure your problem solving skills and ability in handling situations, especially those encountered when working in teams or an office environment.
Overall, it was a challenging interview as it required you to be sure of your attributes, character and what you can offer to the team. Good answering techniques and conversational skills are required to get pass the interviewers.
