I applied online. I interviewed at Dovenmuehle Mortgage (Lake Zurich, IL) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had a scheduled phone conversation with the recruiter. The only question they asked me was at the beginning: "Why are we talking? Why do you want to leave [Company]?". They did not ask about my qualifications our how I would be a good fit, so I brought that up myself later. They did not really share any information about the position or the company, and then spent most of the phone call giving unexpected job application advice / talking about their recruiting experiences in a very casual manner, some of which was not applicable to me at all. For example, saying to apply via their website instead of LinkedIn, and I said that I did, and she responded that she was just speaking generally. She asked if I had any questions, and I asked some questions about the position and benefits; she answered these briefly and went on a tangent about how much vacation time she has saved up. She said something about how I'm at the top of the list for the next round of candidates, and that I would definitely hear back from her soon. It's been a month and I never heard back, and I am not inclined to follow up. Overall the phone call felt unprofessional and unstructured.

I met with all the senior vice presidents. Each had their own questions. The longest one was with SVP finance as I would be working for him.
The final interview, which was next day was with the CEO of the company. He had a few questions and then walked me out to the lobby.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dovenmuehle Mortgage (Lake Zurich, IL) in Jul 2021
Interview
The interview process involved a single phone screening, with an on-site interview which involved some basic technical review. It was quite simple, regarding the technical and non-technical portion. The technical portion involved some basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and that was it.
