My first contact with the company was an admin emailing to request my transcript showing my degree (as if they didn't really believe me?) I should have known that something was odd, but decided to go ahead with the process. Eventually the company asked me to come onsite in Virginia for a couple hours of STAR-type behavioral questions. I answered them all with glowing examples of all-star corporate behavior. Two weeks went by and I got an automated email saying they decided not to hire anyone for the job. Instead they reposted the job at a lower salary/experience level. I don't believe they ever intended to hire anyone for the job as a senior engineer. Instead I believe they were hoping that no one would apply for the job as listed and that would allow them to downgrade the job to find someone (new grad) with no experience. When I applied they were hoping to immediately disqualify me on the basis of not really having the degree I claimed. To top it all off I drove over 1000 miles to the interview, but the company wouldn't reimburse more than 100. I live way more than 100 miles from an airport... The hotel they requested that I stay at was a dump also, so I slept in my car. I still had to pay the bill for the hotel, although I expect to be reimbursed for that at least. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GENTLEMEN!
