I applied online. I interviewed at Dollar General (Fremont, OH) in Sept 2013
Interview
I had my initial interview by phone w/ HR. She was very nice and informative. It was scheduled to be a half hour interview, but lasted an hour and a half. I had a lot of questions and it was obvious she wanted me to understand a little about the business before sending my name to the DM.
She was very honest that the job is tough and may not pay as well as some others, and stressed that there is much room for advancement, and the next level paid very well. She told me if I wasn't contacted in 48 hours to schedule my interview w/ the DM to get in touch w/ her.
It was closer to 60 hours later when the DM called. I missed it, but called her back the next morning. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication, and the position I interviewed for was filled a cpl weeks ago. She hinted at an assistant manager position, but the pay is too low. She stressed that she would like to go ahead w/ the interview anyway as she may have another store manager position opening in a couple of months.
I have that interview in 2 days.
