I applied online. I interviewed at Deskpro (London, England) in Oct 2025
Interview
As per a similar review, 4 interview stages (one being a take home exercise of 4 hours unpaid work) over the space of 3 months. I constantly had to chase for updates after hearing nothing for weeks at a time. Was rejected at the final stage as another candidates experience was better aligned - felt like that could've been established a few rounds prior rather than wasting my time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you restructure this part of the product?
4 interviews of an hour each culminating in an interview with a Scottish man who lived in Texas. After all that they communicated that the job description had changed DURING the interview process. They did not mention that during the process.
4 months later they are still advertising for the role. Amazing.
Had a couple of great interviews with the founder and VP of Engineering. Really interesting company, great culture, great vision. Just not the right timing for me.
They're going through a really interesting stage of growth and have a clear and exciting vision ahead of them.
The interviews were very standard for a VP of product, it was only the first two stages before I pulled out of the process, but they focused on deep dive into fit. A good focus on leadership, alignment between teams and product management philosophy
