      Human Resources Manager Interview

      25 Apr 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dermot Company in Mar 2025

      Interview

The interview process was thorough and thoughtfully structured. It began with a Microsoft Teams call with the current HR Manager, followed about a week later by another virtual interview with the Director of Portfolio Operations and General Counsel. Soon after, I had a Teams call with the CEO, which stood out as one of the best interviews I’ve had — he showed a genuine interest in my background and clearly communicated the importance of the role, emphasizing their commitment to finding the right fit. I was then invited to their Midtown office, where I spent four hours meeting with seven team members across different functional areas. It was clear they were being intentional and collaborative in their approach to hiring. About a week later, I received a note from the HR Manager letting me know they had decided to move forward with another candidate. While disappointing, the overall process was respectful, engaging, and professional from start to finish.

      Question 1

Does it matter that you have a real estate background, I mean what's the benefit in that? You're an HR professional? You're talking about business matters. I've never had this type of conversation with an HR person. Let's focus on HR.
