Step 1 : sent my resume by their career site
Step 2 : got called back by the recruiter very quickly (around 3 days) for a screening interview.
Step 3 : got an email from the recruiter to propose a more detailed interview by Skype
Step 4 : 1 week later : skype interview with recruiter. Very interesting. Nice person. Good view of the kind of people they were looking for.
Step 5 : Another candidate who'd gone through all the steps before I have signed an offer. The job wasn't available anymore. Got a very nice phone call from the recruiter to inform me.
Step 6 : 3 months later, I go called back. The person had finally decided to stay in their previous company. They wanted to know if I was still interested. Of course I was
Step 7 : less than a week after I had a skype interview with Chief People Officer. 50/50 impression on both sides, but we finally decided to meet in person a couple of weeks afterwards.
The recruiter called to debrief me which was great because I could then prepare my face to face interview.
Step 8 : great interview, perfect match on both sides
Step 9 : 2 other interviews with Head of Communications and the former Internal Communication Manager
Step 10 : I had an offer, at the level of salary I asked, plus a relocation package.
Step 6 to 10 where accomplished in about 1 month. Great experience.
