I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Deep Consulting Solutions in Oct 2021
Interview
The interview process started off well, an online interview with the owner after completing an online test, proceeded to the Practical test stage, did the test and submitted the test on the agreed time, Then the owner decides to go MIA. I wasted an entire week for the process and after reaching out went silent.
If you value your time stay away from this organisation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Owner ask you to describe the job you are interviewing for, a simple scan on the Job description is enough
Not a good experience. The interviewer is quite condescending and absurd at times. The interviewer shows up late (despite their emphasis that you be on time) and asks you what the job is (a rhetorical question).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What will you be doing? (I kid you not, he asks you instead)
What the job is is NOT a rhetorical question but is rather a real and practical question which you failed to answer and hence were not able to proceed further - in fact if you have read your pre interview emails you would have noticed that we told you that this question will be asked - and the fact that you showed up and were not able to explain what the job is (despite being provided with a very well detailed job description ahead of this interview) is pretty bad and it tells us that you don't know what job you really applied for and as such don't really pay attention to or think about things you do - and we don't want people like that, which is why we ask this question.
Also - regarding your comment on late showing of the interviewer - as it has been pointed out to you in the interview scheduling email, we run interviews back to back on dedicated days and as result we expect candidates to join the meeting room lobby at scheduled times and we admit them as soon as the interviewer finishes with the previous interview - and knowing that interviews run late - we warn you and other candidates in the emails that the interview may start ~10 min later than set - so you have no reason to complain, other than about your own lack of attention to what is sent to you.
I wish you luck in finding a job - but unless you change your approach you probably won't find one - interviews and hiring process in general is not there to entertain candidates - it is there to provide companies with good hires - so when you are getting a job, it is time for you to humble down and be gracious for the opportunities received and not behave arrogantly and with sense of entitlement.
Interview
1- I applied online
2- I took a skill assessment test. To pass the test I should get more than 70%. This test was 3 questions. I couldn't solve one of the questions (the only multi-choice question) because it was in a programming language I don't know and I got 67% because of that. After a while, I received an email from the principal himself that they have revised the test and removed that question and now my score is 100% and that I can pick a convenient time for an interview.
3- The first interview was with the principal. I was asked about my understanding of the job and of what the company is doing and after I answered the question we had a little conversation and I was informed that I will have to take a test assignment.
4- The assignment was to build a sample project without deadlines and If I deliver the entire assignment and all the requirements are met I will be paid for it. They would also share the feedback from QA testing and code review with me regardless of the results.
5- I had the second interview with the principal and the QA engineer. I was told that I did really well in the assignment and I was asked about how I did the project and the steps I took to complete it. I also asked some questions about the company as well. They shared the feedback from QA testing and code review with me later. I was paid for the assignment as well.
6- The last interview was with the principal. The interview time was delayed one hour by the principal because he had an internal meeting and he informed me about that by email and I didn't have a problem with that. We discussed the job offer and the company culture and job responsibilities. I informed him as well that I will need a few days because I had just finished the last stage of interviews with another company as well and I may receive an offer and I have to wait to make my decision and he had no problem with that.
7- After I made my decision I accepted the offer.
