I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at David Weekley Homes (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2015
Interview
I was interviewed by two gentlemen who took me to lunch to get acquainted and learn about my job experiences. They made me feel very comfortable and trated me with the upmost respect. After the interview I was asked to participate in a pre-employment assessment test. I had never been asked to do this in my entire professional career and began to research what specifically they were looking for since this may be a condition of employment. After much research and actally taking several tests offered by organizations about the business of writing assessment tests for corporations, I began to feel a little more at ease with the request. I put myself in the position of the company as to how and why it benefits both employer and employee--it saves everyone time and unecessary disappointment to have hired someone who eventually doesn't fit the corporate culture. Many of my peers said that they would never want to work for a company that would require such a thing. However, the more I researched and thought about it, the more it made sense to me.
Please note I am still interviewing at this time of writing but had to answer NO job offer to satisfy this survey.
