Databricks Marketing Operations Manager - Nurture interview questions

I served as a reference for someone else applying to this role, and found the practice of asking for a "backchannel reference" to be really odd. The hiring manager asked me, the reference, to provide an additional reference for the applicant. It felt a bit shady to me.
