I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Databricks (Atlanta, GA) in Dec 2020
Interview
The people were nice that a met with. I spoke with 3 individuals for 30 minutes each. I have been selling IT pro svcs for the last 10 years which isn't apples to apples as a data platform. They didn't answer any questions I couldn't answer (sales 101), but they seemed to be looking for a specific response that only folks from their exact industry might know. For example, they asked me how i would go about building a territory. In my opinion, there are sales fundamentals you would apply in any sales roles and there are nuances based on the product/industry you are selling. I never got direct feedback regarding why they didn't move me forward in the process, but I did talk with a friend of mine who works there and she said they have seen people struggle who aren't already selling data related software.

Question 1
How would you build/prioritize a territory? What is your favorite aspect of your current job that you would want to continue in your next role.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Databricks (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Dec 2025
Interview
Very poor candidate experience with unnecessary steps. Expect you to interview like you’ve been working there for 1+ years. Prior to interviewing, I was told by other people that the culture was toxic. I got to see this in the SA interview. Being a top performing sales rep is not good enough. Expect to be grilled by the SA asking you to sell their platform to them.
