At best, timewasting. At worst, shambolic or rude. Hard to say really.
I was called by Databricks' European internal head of recruitment to ask if I would be willing to consider a role in their sales organisation. He asked me lots of detailed questions about my current package, which I answered (and now regret). He told me how amazing Databricks was. And finally, he told me he would send me the full job description by email and that he hoped I would apply for the role because I was a "great fit".
The email never came. He then ignored all of my many subsequent attempts to connect via email and phone.
The thing that I find so cynical about this is the breaking of trust. I gave private details about my current salary package and benefits - and then Databricks didn't even have the decency to respond to any further emails or voicemails. That is not ethical behaviour and it leaves me feeling very suspicious of the way the company is run, at least within EMEA.
