After applying for the position on the Company's website, via LinkedIn, I received an email asking me my available time slots for a phone interview. I responded with my available time slots. The instructions also suggests that I learn the Company's Core Values. All these events occurred on a Friday.
Early Monday, I received an email to confirming the phone interview the next day. The recruiter called me five minutes after our scheduled time on Tuesday to tell me that a candidate whom the Company extended an offer of employment had accepted an offer the night before, and the position is no longer opened.
It would have been nice to inform me as soon as the position is no longer available (i.e. Monday evening). I took Tuesday morning off preparing for the interview (learning their core values and researching the Company).
I think this was not handled well by DaVita, and in hindsight, I'm glad I won't be a part of a company that only speaks of "core values" while not living them.
