      Social Media Specialist Interview

      15 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DLR Group (Denver, CO) in May 2023

      Interview

I had an HR screen and two rounds of marketing interviews. In between, the two, I had to do a project writing posts and responses that took over four hours. Feedback from the project took over two weeks. They thought it was fantastic, but when I asked what they liked, they couldn't articulate specifics. During the second interview, I was told I would move on to the final round. I was eager to follow up; unfortunately, they picked another candidate before scheduling me. A new trend in hiring is for people to tell candidates that they will go on to the next round but not follow up and ghost. I have had this happen to me a few times in the past several weeks, and I was very disappointed that this happened here. And the HR person wouldn't clarify and made the situation worse. DO NOT do this. Making false promises ruins your brand and is a sign of not living up to the values. I noticed the person in the second marketing interview who over-promised the next interview recently graduated from college, so the unprofessional, amateur behavior makes sense for someone new in their career. Also, it is Colorado state law to post the job salary, and they didn't have the decency to do that.
