      Research Analyst Interview

      14 Jan 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DLA Piper (London, England) in Jan 2019

      Interview

A disorganized mess from beginning to end. The reception staff had no idea that I was due to attend a 1st interview, and it took them ten minutes to discover that the interview was due to take place by video (I was given no warning about this), and the 7th floor receptionist had no idea how to set up the camera for the interview - so I had to do it for her. The interviewers (which were in the Leeds office) had no idea of how to structure an interview, had no idea of what the job actually entailed, and no idea of what the new hire would actually do. I was called by HR several days late with what I naturally assumed was either a 'no' or an offer of a second interview. However, it was actually HR calling to try to set up my 1st interview as they had no idea that I'd already had it. They assured me that they would get back to be by the end of the day, needless to say they didn't and I had to call this remarkably ditsy HR employee who spoke purely in 'umms' and 'aahs' and was no help at all.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All very simple procedural questions that didn't in the slightest challenge the interviewee.
