The technical recruiter initially reached out to me with an opportunity, and after I responded, it was suggested that we sync the following day. Given that I have back2back meetings all day, even a 15-minute of free time is valuable, but blocking off an hour is significant. Especially, if no one call back. No one contacted me the next day. I waited until the end of the day before reaching out to the recruiter with a suggestion to reschedule. Her response was simply, "Oh yeah, the day got away from me." There was no apology for the time wasted or any further suggestion on timing.
Having gone through numerous interviews throughout my career, I’m still taken aback by the unprofessionalism of some recruiters, particularly as they are the face of the company. This experience left a bitter aftertaste and raised concerns about how potential employees might be treated. If this is how they manage initial interactions, I can only imagine the level of attention they would offer once you're actually employed. While I don’t typically write reviews about the interview process, this one left me genuinely amused.
