I applied online on Dec. 2, 2023 directly through the DCPS website. I received an email for a phone screening on Dec. 15, 2023 with the Deputy Chief of Legal Operations. She mentioned the job posting has been open since August 2023 because the job market was weird. I was given 24 hours to complete two writing assignments that were emailed to me on Dec. 26, 2023. I was scheduled for a panel interview on Dec. 27, 2023. The virtual panel consisted of 3 staff members and the Director, Labor Management & Employee Relations. I was asked questions about my work style and how others perceived me. My written work assignment was not discussed or even acknowledged. I was told a decision was going to be made within the week. I did not hear back by then and sent a follow up email on January 9, 2024. I finally received a response on January 29, 2024 from the Deputy Chief of Legal Operations that the hiring committee decided to move forward with another candidate. Very disappointing experience with DCPS interview process.
