      Digital Media Coordinator Interview

      12 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DAC in Oct 2024

      Interview

First Round: A brief 15-minute screening with the HR team to review my job experience and assess alignment with the role. Second Round: A more in-depth, 60-minute interview with the hiring managers, where I was asked to share detailed insights about my previous job experiences. Third Round: An assignment-based presentation that required a 45-minute presentation on a "fictional client" google adword post-buy report. I received three Excel files and was expected to analyze them, identify setup issues, and provide insights. I submitted the presentation deck in advance for the hiring manager's review. I also shared an error I encountered in the setup while working on the assignment, which the hiring manager acknowledged and said they would review for "fictional client". The presentation itself went smoothly, with only a few questions asked. However, the assignment was surprisingly challenging for an entry-level position due to the lack of structure. Without background context, I was expected to find setup issues and generate insights independently. After the interview, I was surprised by an unexpected request to submit my working Excel file for further consideration. However, I was uncertain about the purpose behind sharing my detailed work for the "fictional client." After submitting the file, I was informed that I was not selected, with feedback indicating that my conversation performance didn’t stand out and that client communication might be a potential challenge for me. I find this feedback quite interesting, as I believe the interview process itself is a strong indicator of both my conversational skills and client-facing ability. It raises a question: how does submitting an Excel file for and "fictional client" serve as an evaluation of "conversation level" and "client-facing ability"? Overall, though challenging, this process was a valuable experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.
