I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cynomi (London, England) in Jun 2024
Interview
There were only 2 rounds.
1] A direct 3 hour coding and system design interview all at once
2] Final call for cultural fit
As a candidate, if you REALLY care about your self respect and dignity then my honest opinion is to NOT bother interviewing here.
The interviewer was SO RUDE, lacked basic manners and was condescending to a point of insanity. They abruptly made me stop MULTIPLE times while I was answering their own questions and the way they were CONSTANTLY stopping me was by saying "ok...ok....stop....stopp...stop NOW.....CUT.." with angry body language and making faces. Nobody should behave like that with any candidate.
It was very painful to even get my thoughts across and before I was able to finish my answer, midway, they were battering with constant interruptions with above language to cut me off. Very combative interview for no reason and the they were TRYING to put me down/cut me off just for answering.
In the end, after 3 hours long interview, I was asked if I have any questions for them. I asked them some question about the role, team, tech stack and their deployment process and they cut me off there as well saying "ok....stopp...cut...We are still building the infrastructure.... that's all I am going to sayy.... no more question and no more answers". I was gobsmacked at the impatience, condescension, bad manners and lacking any class and elegance whatsoever.
After the interview, I immediately complained to my recruiter saying "which kinda of company did they put me through" as it was a pure torture.
The feedback from Cynomi came the next day stating that "the candidate was technically very good and solved the entire problem. The candidate also did very well in all the questions but we felt the communication was not aligned and hence we do not wish to proceed".
They purely lied in their feedback that it was only because of the communication they are rejecting me, nothing else. It was THEM who had not only been extremely rude with communication but VERY rude interviewing skills with a total disregard for me as a candidate. The body language and the way they were treating me was absolutely appalling.
Honestly even before the feedback came, I already made my mind to not proceed from my side anyways, but, instead of apologizing me, they pure lied in the feedback which was nuts.
I do think companies should be called out for their bad behavior and they SHOULD treat their candidates with dignity and respect regardless. I urge glassdoor to make candidates aware about such companies as this is the ONLY platform where bad companies can be held accountable.
To anyone reading this, please don't waste time interviewing here, you have been warned.
