I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Cuso International (Ottawa, ON) in Jun 2017
Interview
Great interview over the phone! short and simple. It focused more on soft skills as well as how well you work in a group setting. The interview was first over the phone and once you passed this step you are asked to come to Ottawa and participate in a three-day screening session. This is where you showcase your soft skills and how well you work in a group setting. At one point of the day, you are placed in a room for a 1:1 interview with a Cuso representative. This is the hardest part of the day. The questions are very much geared towards experience, soft skills, problem management skills, and how well you respond to stressful/ unexpected situations.

Interview
I was interviewed for a volunteer position in LA. After I applied, they contact me about two months later. There was a total of about 3 skype interviews (with one person of Cuso, then with two, and then with Cuso and the partner organization where I was going to work). The focus was pretty much on the soft skills and checking if my ethics and interests match with the organization. Pretty relaxed interviews. After getting the job it took about two more months to get the visa and other needs.
