The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CubeSmart Self Storage (Malvern, PA) in Apr 2019
Interview
I got the interview through a data science bootcamp. This would have been my first professional job post graduate school.
First round was a phone call with the hiring manager where he went over my resume. He delved deep into my PhD project and asked very detailed questions trying to understand the topic and methods and tools I had used. I have to add that my research was not related to his background so the curiosity was not due to personal interest.
Second round was a data challenge. They sent me an excel file from their customer data and asked 6 questions about it. I had 48 hours to work on it and submit my code and a report with it (power point or word). In the email there was another 3 questions. They mentioned they don't expect it to take more than 2-4 hours. However, in reality it took me a good 10-12 hours to work on it. Considering there were 9 questions, it took me 2-3 hours to just make the presentation. I submitted the work but never heard back from them. I even emailed the HR person two weeks later doing a follow up but she did not bother to reply back. Kind of unprofessional to ghost on a candidate after he put 10-12 hours into this data challenge. A courtesy email would have been nice.

Scheduled for a phone interview but they never called. Try to reach out to recruiter but never responded to me. Not exactly sure what happened but feels like I dodged a bullet.

HR interview was easy. Set up a Data sciences review next week. Meet with a data science background interviewer. He was nice and asked me lots of machine learning questions about my own project.
