      Perception Engineer Interview

      3 May 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cruise

      Interview

Had two phone interviews. The first asked me basic questions about my research, why I wanted to work at the company, nothing difficult. The second interview was more technical, with probing questions on how various algorithms work, and what one might do given different types of data. A live online coding challenge was then given, which was somewhat difficult given the pressure of programming with someone figuratively looking over your shoulder.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Give the technical details of the algorithms you use in your current research.

      Perception Engineer Interview

      18 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Cruise

      Interview

90 minute coding challenge, initial phone screening, three 60 minute coding interviews on-site. In each interview, we discussed a prior project before the coding question. If you're okay with the SF location, I recommend considering Cruise because the projects are cool, and the people seemed extremely positive. Unfortunately, the recruitment process was also very disorganized, and some of the interviewers didn't seem particularly experienced at interviewing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Standard coding questions, but bent more toward mathematical/geometrical concepts.
