I actually made my own opportunity! My son was in his first year at Crossings. He seemed really to love his experience, so I contemplated teaching there. I asked my son's Bible teacher if she would welcome a presentation on Biblical Archaeology for her classes. She enthusiastically accepted. On the day that I presented, many of the students seemed interested. To my surprise and delight, the headmaster came in and sat down. He stayed for ten minutes, said nothing, and left the classroom.
I knew that things had gone well when he Academic Dean called me and asked if I needed any help with the application. I shared some of my concerns and he guided me very purposefully as if it mattered to him.
The application is a long document. Filling it out took time. Once I finished, I called the Academic Dean for an appointment. He and I met with the headmaster and we hammered out a contract that day.
