I applied in-person. I interviewed at County of Bernalillo (Albuquerque, NM) in Apr 2026
Interview
I found the interview process to be disappointing and one-sided. The interviewers appeared focused on hearing only the answers that aligned with their immediate staffing needs, rather than having a genuine, two-way discussion.
When I stated that I value a balanced schedule and would need reasonable advance notice for shifts, the interview was abruptly cut short. This gave the impression that employee availability was expected to be completely open-ended, with little regard for work-life balance.
Overall, the experience felt inflexible and dismissive. I would recommend that candidates clarify scheduling expectations early, as the role may demand a level of availability that is not clearly communicated upfront.

Question 1
I was asked if I could work weekends, any shift, and any holiday.
I applied online. I interviewed at County of Bernalillo (Albuquerque, NM) in May 2025
Interview
It was lengthy but great overall! They started by sending me a design task. That was basically getting you onto the next step. Then I had in person interview with about 4 people. It was a great time! Everyone was nice and pleasant. After that it was a second interview via phone. They did say my pay won’t be confirmed until after the job is decided on who would get it because they have to do an evaluation of the person and their skills. But overall it was a good interview process and they were very kind.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at County of Bernalillo (Albuquerque, NM) in Jun 2023
Interview
Completely chaotic. No one understood what the process was. I received text messages on my personal phone, phone calls, and emails as if the scheduler where trying to make quota. Once confirmed for an interview, nothing more in terms of mechanics. I had no idea who I was interviewing with or how to prepare. Icing on the cake? The Director got up in the middle of the interview to check on something, with no notice, and left me wondering if the interview was even on? Afterwards, was ghosted until I hit them up when it turned to a "no." THANKFULLY, this experience taught me government jobs aren't for me. This interview was practice and motivation to get a private sector job - which I did! Thanks BernCo!

Question 1
They rattled off 15 questions rapid fire. Felt like a game show. Nothing hard, just lots of nested questions you're supposed to memorize.
