Mostly only to convince HR and the CEO I was a good fit for the job, minimum time talking to my actual supervisor on technical specs. It's all about making the higher ups feel good about spending money.

After two lengthy phone interviews, I visited onsite and met with nine people individually. It took me the entire day without so much as a bathroom break, and they didn't follow up to even reject me. I gave them a lot of insight after preparing and researching thoroughly beforehand. I felt they used my interview as a free strategic planning consultation. I'm glad I didn't land it because I am happy with the role I now lead.
