I was contacted on LinkedIn by Core BTS to apply for a Solutions Architect position. The interview process consisted of two stages: an initial phone screen and a technical interview with screen sharing.
The phone screen was straightforward, and the technical interview had a clear path, covering topics such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps (ADO), Power BI/Fabric, security, SQL, and Python. However, despite asking twice, I received no information on what to expect for the technical review, which made it challenging to prepare effectively.
The company itself doesn't seem to be structured intuitively. It was odd that their data and AI functions are split. In the phone interview, I was asked about AI, while the technical interview focused on Databricks and CI/CD. The job description aligned with a standard Azure data architect stack, which is similar to what I currently handle at a larger, more established firm. I participated in the interview process mostly out of curiosity.
Ultimately, I did not receive an offer, and they provided no interview feedback. Additionally, I had emailed them after the technical interview was set up to ask for more information, but I never received a response.
Overall, it was an okay experience, but the lack of structure and communication left much to be desired.
