I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Control Point Associates (Warren, NJ) in Mar 2025
Interview
I had high hopes with this company originally. The beginning process was a phone interview, followed by a call and email from HR to come in for an interview. My interviewer was very cold to me and made statements contrary to the job I was interviewing for. The interviewer said so what we really need is office CAD tech guys, ok so... I was there for a field party chief position. He continued to tell me that he has many party chiefs with 10-20+ years experience. From that point I was confused on why I was there. A week after the interview HR emailed me and said we cannot hire a part-time crew-chief but please reapply when school is done. I was currently fulltime in school for another month so I emailed back and stated I would reapply after graduation. I also emailed my interviewer and sent over two school projects that I recently completed. He sent a one line email and said he would pass this along to others. Then
I get an email to come back for an interview again. There was no position stated so I assumed it was for the crew chief position because I was a week away from completion. I go in for the second interview and sit in the waiting room for a half hour. I am called in to the conference room with my original interviewer. He was on his phone and then passed me along to two other employees, project managers. One wouldn't look at me and the other was cursing often and telling me about how they work hard and party hard. Anyway 10 minutes into that I had to stop the interviewer who talked and asked them what am I interviewing for today? He said oh, Survey Tech, then did a terrible job of explaining what that position consisted of. I just wanted to leave. It was a disaster and believe there was no intention of hiring me at any point and it was more less a training game for the new employees. I was respectful and gave direct answers when asked a question and did not receive the respect I showed. HR emailed me again a week later and said that they cannot hire me but will keep my resume on file in the future. I hope they didn't. To clarify, I was well qualified for the position and had 3 years more that their minimum required and an associates degree with a CAD background.
