Conti interview questions

Recruiter put me in touch with the company. After several month of emails and video interviews. Was told they would like to make me an offer. During this time informed them of the something in my past from almost 20years ago so they would not be surprised during a background check. Received and email later that week that they would not make me an offer. Did not explicitly say it was because of my past. Only that they talked to HR and VP and they would not be making me an offer any more.
