This whole process started wrong. The secretary told me to be there at 11:30, but the interview was really at 9:00. After sitting in waiting room full of coughing people for 30 minutes, she came out and apologized, saying she messed up and wanted to know if I would sit there until 1:00pm when they were available. I declined and said that I would be back at 1:00; I went and had lunch. When I finally got taken back to interview at 1:30 (late again), I was told by the manager that they don't like to hire bedside nurses because they usually end up not liking the job. Hmmm... so why did you call me for an interview then? The manager also proceeded to tell me that the medical assistants didn't like the last two nurses because they were lazy, and that a lot would be expected of me.
The entire interview felt like they were trying to intimidate me and the nursing supervisor for the clinics was not very nice either. I left feeling very offended and couldn't believe that this is what "humankindness" was supposed to be. I had always had a good impression of Dignity Health, but those two women definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I told myself that if they even offered me the job, I wouldn't accept. They clearly did not value my time or experience. Shame on you!
