      Marketing Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ComboCurve in Mar 2026

      Interview

I recently went through the interview process with ComboCurve and wanted to share my experience for others considering applying. The process initially seemed promising, with clear communication and a role that aligned well with my background. However, as the process progressed, I was asked to complete a case study that required developing a detailed marketing campaign strategy tailored specifically to their business. While case studies are common, this one went beyond assessing skills and felt more like creating actionable work the company could directly implement. Candidates should be mindful of the level of detail and strategic depth being requested. During the case study presentation, the interview experience itself felt unstructured and at times dismissive. I was frequently interrupted mid-sentence, which made it difficult to fully communicate my thinking and approach. After submitting the case study, communication stopped entirely. I followed up and never received a response or closure. Requesting high-effort, business-specific work from candidates and then failing to follow up is not only unprofessional, but raises concerns about how candidate work may be used. I would strongly encourage future candidates to clarify expectations around case studies upfront and be cautious of requests that resemble unpaid consulting work.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. What was the competitive advantage of the last company you worked at and how did you communicate that to the market? 2. Why did you choose that specific icon for this presentation slide? 3. What do you do when a competitor uses your messaging in their marketing?
