I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cologix (Cedar Knolls, NJ) in Sept 2017
Interview
initial phone call, in person with technical over a conference call, then another technical call. all in all, everything was smooth though a bit bizzare. The manager interviewed me and then had me come onsite in person. onsite, he sat in a conference room with me and dialed in a 3rd party, non cologix engineer to interview me. as odd as it seemed, it made it that much worse that he sat there staring at me answering questions. interview was successful and we continued the conversation - then, another odd question which was basically answered by saying "yes, i'd throw my colleagues under the bus if they did something wrong".
I continued through the process and had another interview with another team member who proceeded to ask me questions unrelated to the job description (which was specifically geared towards a VMware engineer). He asked me about firewall software, routing and switching, exchange server, presales, and a slew of other nonsensical questions unrelated to the role. After that, the hiring manager went dark and I proceeded to get calls from other firms about the role and that he'd "upped" the salary since it was initially an unrealistic number. That and the job description completely changed - role is still open, 6 months later. Good luck working for that manager.
