I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cognizant (New York, NY) in Dec 2021
Interview
Had a call with a very nice company recruiter who was interested in my background and thought I could be a good fit.
Went along with it as the opportunity sounded interesting and the compensation seemed right. I got forwarded to a technical interview zoom call and my heart sank as two people showed up on the zoom call with no video for either of them, and a limited command of English. They then both proceeded to ask me textbook definition questions about React/React lifecycle, MobX, Typescript, type casting, etc. I was so unhappy with the way the interview was being conducted like a grade-school dictionary, and if these interviewers were any indication of who I was going to work with in the future, that I closed out early.
I know that Softvision was acquired by Cognizent which is based in India, but if they want to hire US based developers, their hiring process needs to be less dictionary based and with better speakers of English.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cognizant (Melbourne) in Aug 2020
Interview
1. Got a call fron friendly HR who explained the process.
2. Went for 1:1 interview comprised of everything technical related to skills i applied for.
3. Online hacker rank exam. 1 practical ques React based...i prepared almost two weeks with HackerRank samples and to increase speed.
There were 15 multiple choice questions.
4. Got an offer but was not onboarded untill facing another client interview. Whaich was exhausting. Client interview was like a fresh interview you apply for any job, equally challanging .
