Five total interviews: recruiter screen, three individual interviews with members of leadership, technical interview with a consultant. Recruiter was quick to reply to follow-ups. Had good conversations with everyone and likely would have accepted if offered.

What roles would you hire first and how soon to build out the department?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cogency Global (Sacramento, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview was quite casual as they asked questions and I answered to the best of my abilities. It was quite a positive experience until I didnt hear an update from them in regards to the next steps. Took around 3 days until I had to call their talent agency about the updates and was outright told they picked someone else despite my previous inquiries on the same subject. Turned a positive experience into a sour one where they ghosted me without even one single acknowledgement despite the how many times I called to be reminded of the process. Average interview but horrendous correspondence as if I don't matter.
Pretty fast interview process, it’s my opinion that they need people to fill positions fast. They went through a hiring freeze, but things seem to be picking up. HR was wonderfully responsive in the process
