I submitted my CV with a covering letter and was invited for a formal individual interview held at the company’s offices. The manager interviewing had a very specific idea of the kind of sales experience he was looking for, and despite having spent 8 years in financial services sales, was convinced my experience wasn’t applicable. I was surprised at his approach given that he’d had my CV in advance of the interview and had invited me anyway.
