I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Coefficient (CA) (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
I discovered Coefficient when searching for a way to automate data tasks in my previous role. I was so impressed that I reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn. I met with the manager and then interviewed with company leadership in 2 subsequent rounds. The hiring team was able to move very quickly and I completed all interviews and received an offer 7 days after first meeting the manager. Interview process was a mix of technical and behavioral questions, especially about spreadsheet skills, knowledge of various business data sources/systems, experience in SaaS business models, etc
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
I was asked about my experience with different systems Coefficient integrates with (Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, MySQL etc) and did a deep dive on my spreadsheet skills. In the technical interview, I screenshared as I navigated through spreadsheets I had built and was asked specific questions about how and why I built specific pivot tables, charts and formulas. I was also asked about experience working in client-facing role, interviewing stakeholders, and managing projects.

Will waste your time - seems like they aren't sure if they even want to hire for this role. Why have someone go through rounds of interviews if you aren't sure?

Question 1
"why coefficient" "how did you hear about us" "tell us about your sales process"
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Coefficient (CA) (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2022
Interview
I was approached by one of the company's leadership to interview for the role. I had two interviews, with the COO and the CEO over the course of a week. The company was unclear about their requirements. The questions the CEO asked were of the nature "prove that you are not a bad professional" which is a low bar. The CEO was unreceptive to the fact that I had taken a career break to focus on family and health. Only one technical question was asked by the CEO which was rather basic. The CEO (ex-Google engineer) said he had never used SQL window functions, which was a red flag given that this is a database connector company. Seemed like an amateur shop. I withdrew from the process.
