The recruitment process began on a positive note. The initial interview with HR was professional; they provided comprehensive information about the company and conducted a thorough review of my background and experience.
However, the communication process deteriorated significantly thereafter. As part of the interview process, I was asked to complete a mock discovery call exercise, which I prepared for extensively. I was told that the following stage would involve walking the team through an implementation plan based on that exercise.
Following the second interview, I was ghosted. Despite sending a follow-up email to inquire about next steps, I received no response. A full week later, I received a generic rejection email with no professional courtesy or feedback offered. Given the lack of transparency and communication during the hiring phase, I have serious concerns regarding the company’s internal culture and management style. After researching their internal employee reviews, I am confident that this was not a good fit.
They reached out to me and started a dialogue about me coming aboard. The process felt too heavily orchestrated which was a red flag. CEO was very involved and I got the impression that they were curating what I was seeing about the company.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Coast (CA) (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2024
Interview
Had an intro meeting with the engineering manager. Was supposed to be only 30 minutes but we ended up going well over (he asked if I had extra time) just chatting about my background, the role, team, etc. Really appreciated the extra time and thoughtful & thorough replies to my questions. Ultimately it was not a fit for them, but the manager took the time to send me an email with specific feedback which was greatly appreciated.
