I applied online. I interviewed at ClubLabs in May 2026
Interview
I applied for the UX Research Internship and got a 30-minute HR phone call. I spent my whole weekend preparing, only to have the call wrap up in 10 minutes due to the recruiter's complete lack of preparation.
It was obvious that she hadn’t even skimmed my resume for 15 seconds beforehand or listened to a word I said. Right after answering the typical "Tell me about yourself", she asked whether I was a student or working full time. The call ended so fast I only got to talk about a single experience on my resume.
She also seemed clueless about the actual job. When describing the role, I think she just read straight from the job posting, robotically saying that the internship is "held in the historic Los Angeles building." It felt lazy and super disheartening after all the effort I put in. Please respect candidates' time. We spend hours prepping for these interviews, so the least your recruiters can do is look at a resume before calling. Train your HR team to actually understand the roles they are hiring for!
