I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Clocktower Media (Kirkland, WA) in Nov 2013
Interview
I was referred to this company from a recruiter. I was informed I would have a 20 minute phone interview the owner but was rushed in to do a face to face. The interview went well and lasted about 25 minutes. I was then called in for a second interview. I arrived about 15 minutes earlier and was met by one of the employees. I was very friendly with him but he did not return the feelings to me. I got the impression he didn't want me there. I then went into a room where the owner was there with about five others. I told them a little bit about myself and then answered questions from everyone. I was trying to be friendly but that was pushed aside as the first person I talked to told me to get on with what I had to say. I then left feeling good about my chances. I was expecting some sort of 20 minute scenario I had read in the email from the recruiter but I had none. I didn't hear anything later on that day but the recruiter told me that they would let me know. Then about a month after my first interview and two weeks after my second interview, which was delayed a week they told my recruiter that I wasn't strong enough for the position. This shocked me as I was engaged in conversation with the members that interviewed me and felt as though I handled the subject well. But I was given no chance to prove myself with this scenario I thought I had coming. Waiting two weeks for an answer was very unprofessional. This was a position that I really tried for and I felt was a good fit for me but as the time dragged on, I felt less and less inclined to even accept an offer had one been presented. This may be a multi-million dollar company but it needs a lot of help in people skills and how they run through the interview process. Hopefully the next candidate they try to bring on will have a better experience, but I seriously doubt it.
