      Learning Program Manager Interview

      8 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Citadel (New York, NY) in Apr 2018

      Interview

I was initially contacted about the role by a third party recruiter I sometimes work with. After about a week or so I had a phone interview with an HR professional in Chicago. Nothing crazy, fairly straightforward career and firm review. The following interviews (phone 1st then in person) were with the person who would be my direct boss and then the head of the team. The first was good and we discussed the role, what kind of learning programs they’re implementing, etc. but the second interview is where it went astray. Not only did I have to reschedule on two hours notice to accommodate the head of the team, I also was told the role description had changed to focus more on technology implementation. No problem for me because that’s part of my background but I’m just not sure they knew (or still know) what they want from the role. Ultimately they did not extend an offer but did offer the feedback (through my recruiter) that I “didn’t demonstrate enough knowledge about Citadel”. We both thought this was strange and very few (if any) interview questions even touched on that. It felt like an excuse to me and overall it was just a strange process.
