I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CircleBlack (Boston, MA) in Dec 2023
Interview
I had two rounds of interviews and after the 2nd round, after 5 days of them delaying the results and after several emails ->
I got an email saying the positions were not considered and rejected by the board and they were not considering anyone. I recommend anyone applying to keep this as their backup given my experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Interview with Project Manager:
Good questions on background, experience and understanding requirements for a project or an application( In my case functionality of a search bar)
2. Interview with dev team
Questions on NodeJS(coding api calls) and questions on serverless architecture and microservices in AWS
3. Interview with Software Head on SQL Queries and QA/Testing process(Unit and Integration Testing)
4. Behavioral interview with Agile Manager.
As most people have experienced in interviews, you really have no idea what is expected of you, for example "surprise! take 2 hours to write a complex SQL script on the spot!" or what you're going to be asked.
After interviews with many companies and having been in a previous role interviewing, I found the CircleBlack process very refreshing.
There were three concise interviews: One with the technical recruiter, one with the direct manager for my position, and one with the CTO.
Each lasted 30 minutes to an hour. They were very conversational and comfortable.
The process for myself was very quick and communicative. None of the "well, we interviewed you a few times for a total of 6 hours and we'll let you know in a few weeks" deal. I've found if an employer has to spend that much time interviewing and cannot decide on a hire, they are asking the wrong questions.

Question 1
What were some challenging projects or tasks you've faced?
I applied online. I interviewed at CircleBlack in Apr 2021
Interview
The interview process was very cut and dry. Interview first with the HR rep to get a sense of my experience in general and the nature of the role and a broad sense of the company. Followed by 2 or 3 interviews with the Hiring Manager and some people I would be working very close with. The company is very tight knit and everyone is very nice and super helpful. Great Experience overall and happy with my choice to join Circle Black.
