I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Chipotle (Bethesda, MD) in Aug 2014
Interview
I went personally to a Chipotle and asked for the job. They immediately interview me and then ask me to fill an online application, so they could call me later. They call me after 2 days for a second interview and hired me immediately. They gave me shirt and hat and told me I started the next week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me about my life and how I see Chipotle as a business. Before this, I'd study some "Food and Beverage Management" training so I knew what to say. But they are looking for what they call the "13 characteristics". They want to see you are a happy person, ambitious, high energy, that you are not the type of person who just wants the money. Not every Chipotle will look for this, depends on the management.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (West Hartford, CT) in May 2026
Interview
I scheduled an interview, but when I arrived the first time the manager was not there, so I had to reschedule. At the second interview, I waited about 10–15 minutes before the manager was ready. The interview itself was short, around 10 minutes, and mostly consisted of behavioral questions read from a sheet. Overall, the process felt disorganized and not very personal, but the questions were straightforward.
