Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle in Jan 2014
Interview
I applied online and received a call about a week later. I came in for my first interview and was seated in the dining room. One person (who was the soon to be kitchen manager) interviewed me (1:1). It felt quite awkward interviewing in front of everyone eating, but the interviewer was nice and made me feel comfortable. Questions were like... "tell me about yourself," "what do you know about Chipotle," "why do you want to work for Chipotle," "when are you available?" The interviewer told me that I'll be coming in for a second interview at the end. After leaving the store I received a call within 5 minutes notifying me the second interview and scheduling it the next day.
The second interview was me with three interviewers. Two were managers and one was a manager in training (1:3). They asked me similar questions like "tell me about yourself," "why do you want to work here," "how would your friends describe you," "do you know about the 13 characteristics," etc...
The general manager told me she would call me within a week. Past a week and no call. I would call them and ask about the status, but I accepted another offer already. EDIT: They called me (almost 2 weeks after the interview)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is empowerment and top performers? For some reason I sort of blanked and gave them my best answer. After that they showed me a sheet with all their buzzwords and their definitions, letting me know I'd have to memorize all of that.
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
