I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle (Wichita, KS) in Feb 2013
Interview
I put in a few applications to the Chipotle locations close to where I live. I got emails from two of them showing interesting and giving dates and times for interviews. The first location I went to was just starting the lunch hour rush and there were already two other interviews being conducted. I was eventually interviewed by a manager. He was pretty good, asked about my work history, what I thought about Chipotle, etc. I was told I would get a second interview when the main manager returned from vacation. The interview at the second location was horrible! The woman who interviewed me seemed rushed and like she wanted to get it over with. When she told me Chipotle's creedo, it was like she memorized it and didn't really take it to heart. Afterwards, I got an email from the second location stating that they had found someone else. The first location never called back and when I called them a week later, the manager was STILL on vacation and my contact information was taken for when he got back. That was back in February and still no replies of any nature.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
